His timing was spot on ...just got out in time. They have also issued warnings all up the Pacific Coast as far as Canada.

One report had a 2 metre tsunami hiiting the Chilean coast.

They are well prepared for anything like that. When we were in Valparaiso pre cruise we took a Pacific Coast Day tour. All up the coast line are signs that indicate the tsunami escape routes.

it appears to have been on the border of Chile and Peru.

Any tsunami will take 15 hours to reach NZ and a further 3 hrs to Australia. Last time it happenned people went down to the beach to watch the tsunami come in, but by the time it reached here it was less than a foot high. Narrow harbours and inlets did report unusual tidal movements though with the sea rising and falling several times thoughout the day.

They are about to leave the English Channel and start the crossing of the Bay of Biscay. Lets hope its not too rough at the moment.

That English Channel looks very busy..its almost like a motorway with all the traffic it carries..:D

First port of call...Cadiz.

Not sure how you missed me, I did ask some others about you who were at the meet and greet but they did not meet you. It was a great trip though.

I take it you were at Ushuaia in the 2nd photo.

I always find it amazing, that some people you never meet and others you meet all the time (without planning) and some you meet when embarking and never see them again.:D
