Royal Caribbean's insurance policy question

We are sitting in a hotel at Port Canaveral waiting until morning to head home. We were supposed to be heading on a 30th anniversary cruise in the morning but got a call that my parents were in a head on collision today. They have no life threatening injuries but I'm an only child and my mom is having hip surgery on Tuesday so I AM HEADING HOME. Thankfully, I bought the trip insurance off of Royal Caribbean's website. I'm just hoping it covers this. And, should I call the cruise line in the morning to tell them or should I drive to the port and explain before we leave?
