Single supplements

Has anyone tried and successfully got CCL to waive a single supplement? I haven't given them a ring yet but just wanted to get other people's perspective. I wish I could find a good travel agent that could help me with this, but I can't seem to find anyone!

You won't have any luck negotiating the single supplement. Carnival bookings are strong this year and they don't have incentive to discount. The best way I've found to get around the single supplement is to play in the casino to earn a bounce back offer for a free cabin. A free cabin has no single supplement. I figure I might as well have fun earning the free cabin rather than just handing over a double fare.

Sometimes they have waived or reduced single supplement sales, but I haven't seen one in a while. You might want to check out Royal Caribbean or Norwegian Cruise Line. They both have one person studio cabins on their newer ships. They are tiny, but it may save you some money over paying full price for a regular cabin. Of course those ships may not go when and where you want, but there are more options now than there used to be.
