cruisen JJ Posted June 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2004 We were loyal Sitmar sailors - have since sailed with RCCL & Princess. Our next cruise is on Sapphire Princess July 4. We are going on the Zuiderdam for a wedding in January. As we have never sailed HAL are there any pros or cons re different verandah rooms. All information will be greatly appreciated. TedC Posted June 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2004 The Verandah cabins designated A and B have larger verandahs than the BA, BB, BC etc cabins. If you look at the deck plan, the cabins in the indented area port and starboard are the cabins with verandahs that are 12 or 18 inches less deep than the A and B cabins. Most of the verandah cabins are the same size, the difference is in the verandah. The A verandah cabins along the stern have even larger verandahs but most of those lose some privacy because they can be seen from the aft Lido deck because the aft decks are tiered. This general rule is true in all three Vista-class ships.
PoohUnderstands Posted June 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2004 If you can, go with an "SS" suite if there are only two of you if you can swing it, money wise. It is so much worth the extra dollars over a regular veranda stateroom anywhere on the "Z," IMHO. Have a great trip wherever you end up!
deltableh Posted June 25, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2004 Make sure to ride the elevators along the side of the ship when you have a day at sea. And bring a camera.
