British Isles 2018

Hi, This is the first time I have ever used a message board. It will also be the first time we have gone on a cruise. We are going on Viking Ocean cruise to The British Isles in May 2018. Has anyone gone yet or going in May 2018?

Probably the best "starter cruise" you could pick. We did a similar itinerary last year on another line and ended up with a list of places we want to go back to. Make sure you have a lightweight waterproof wind breaker since you have a good chance of a light mist or shower along the way but it isn't a deterrent. Pick your tours carefully to avoid what the Brits called the ABC (another bloody castle or another bloody cathedral) syndrome. Time will be your enemy so you might want to avoid half day brewery or distillery tours. Stopping in at a local pub and having a Guinness is a good thing. We did several hop on hop off bus tours and ended up spending a lot of time at interesting places that weren't on or original list and stop and go at places that we thought we were going to like. Be prepared for a lot of walking and be flexible with your "must see" list
