Flying into Dubrovnik

Hi we are going on the Thomson spirit next Thursday the 13th of July.

We will be landing in Dubrovnik around 10.00 in the morning therefore should be on the ship at latest by 12.00 Ship not sailing until 10.00 at night - will we be able to get off the ship and see Dubrovnik?

Yes but check the time for safety drill it's mandatory 😉 sit on the left from airport great views. You will also not have to wait for your luggage as it's bonded.

We had similar timings with a flight from Doncaster. After a quick change of clothes (hand luggage) and lunch on the ship we were able to enjoy a couple of hours in Dubrovnik Old Town. Upon return our luggage was outside the room and I had plenty of time to unpack before the muster.

Thanks to all the helpful replies to my previous posts, I knew to get a taxi to Pile Gate from the port. It cost 13 euro each way and the drivers were very efficient and helpful.

We're going on our 1st ever cruise on the Spirit starting in Dubrovnik in Aug so would be interested in any tips anyone has. Thanks

yes, no problem getting off the ship. We landed just after 09.00 last July and were on the ship before 11.00. Not having to collect your luggage was great! We were there overnight so had plenty of time. There is a lovely little bar almost opposite the port gates that had ice cold beer - very welcome in the heat!

You can get a taxi from the port to the old town (Pile Gate) or the local bus from the bus station, again by the port. You will need kuna for the bus but I think the taxi were showing prices in euros.

We walked around the walls - you can pay by credit card, but not Amex if I remember correctly.
