Parking in San Francisco

I would like to start a thread with all the possibilities for parking while on a cruise. Please include hotels that have cruise packages. What is the cost and distance from the pier? Can you walk or must you use a shuttle or taxi?

Stay at a park and fly hotel near the airport and then take Bart and Muni to the pier. Hotels in San Francisco do not offer packages. Land too expensive for hotels. Pier parking is $18.00 a day with reservations and is only a few blocks away. No easy answer to give.
