Norwegian Epic or Ruby Princess with a 3 yr old?

Any recommendations as to which has a better kids program for a 3 yr old toddler? Seems like NCL has the bells and whistles with Nickelodeon, but I'm more concerned with the quality of kids program activities and accessibility. Thanks in advance!

Our DD was 4 when we went on the Ruby and it's the only kids club where she wanted to stay. The staff was amazing and they did great activities with the kids. We have never been on NCL so can't help much there. DD liked the Princess Pelicans more than Disney.

We've been on the Epic 3 times - LOVE it! I think it would definitely be best for a 3 yr old. There is a splash pool with tiny slides - mostly shaded. The Nic characters are also lots of fun. My DD loves the kids club. We also like Princess - just not as much for kids or adults to do - just my opinion. The entertainment on the Epic is fabulous!

Honestly at 3 years of age I don't think it really makes any difference. I've never been on NCL but I know Princess has a quality kids' program. The basics of the kids program for a 3 year old are going to be the same on either one. You should pick based on whichever is better for the adults, and be confident that either way you 3 year old will have a similar experience.

I have been on both ships and I would choose NCL Epic with a 3 y/o-much more kid friendly in my opinion. I have not had any experience with Princess kids club as my son was an infant when we brought him on the Ruby Princess, so I can't speak to that. I am a frequent cruiser and can't say I would choose Princess when cruising with my 3 y/o...if I was going with just adults I would go on Princes but I think NCL Epic is geared more towards families.

Thanks to all who responded! We booked the NCL Getaway (was actually cheaper than the Epic!) These forums are so helpful, appreciate everybody's time.

Good for you! Getaway is beautiful, fabulous kids area too! Epic I found was very smokey due to the casino being opened to above and below, smoking bars on deck and on balconies... That's all I could smell. The rooms have a odd layout too, you walked in through god bathroom so to speak... Loved the getaway!
