cbsmith78 Posted November 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2015 This will be our first time cruising with Celebrity and are wondering if there are umbrellas in the room? We have a Sky Suite booked. If there are, can they be taken off the ship? Thanks!
Trainer Posted November 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2015 Yes, there will be an umbrella in your room for you use on and off ship during the cruise. Don't take it home.
Wj420 Posted November 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2015 We did not have an umbrella in our sky suite during our recent sailing.
Rare chemmo Posted November 7, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2015 Bulky and useless if the wind blows. We never use them. Each time we visit the USA I top up with throw away ponchos. No space, total cover in a downpour and then you can just bin them. If you do not have an umbrella ask your room steward, but honestly just invest in that wonderful cover up from the dollar shop. When we cruised Alaska we did have real rain wear and all the layers recommended. Other than there our trusty dollar macs have never let us down. PS. You can get sort of the same in the UK but they cost more and are smaller.

gimletgal Posted November 7, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2015 We did not have an umbrella in our sky suite during our recent sailing. I have never been on any Celebrity ship (from insides to CC) that there wasn't at least one umbrella provided. If you did not have one, it was an oversight, and all you need do is ask the room steward/butler for one. The golf umbrellas are big and long, but work great as a cane if it doesn't rain! :) The shorter collapsible ones easily fit into any bag you may carry off the ship. They have come in handy on occasion especially for the sudden downpours in the Caribbean.
