hawkeye93 Posted May 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2017 Weird question- but I'm booking a cruise out of Galveston with 4 18-yr old boys for their senior trip (god help me). Honestly, they will plant themselves in the sports court area the vast majority of the time and I wondered if the 2 ships are pretty comparable there? Same size, good variety of sports activities, etc? I assume they are both full-court and not half court venues?? Typically Carnival is cheaper for us but with the current sale, RC is coming in slightly less. Any opinions on these 2 ships for older teens? The comedy club is a draw for us on Carnival for sure. Will cross post for a balanced opinion.

Kinny Posted May 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2017 Been on Independence OTS and Carnival Magic so it's kinda of a similar comparison. The Freedom class layout is definitely better IMO. It is also slightly larger. Kids will have fun on either water slides. The Breeze has the 4D theater and the rope course while Liberty has the rock wall, ice rink, and flowrider. It depends on what they like. They will have fun on either ship.
Junkhouse Posted May 22, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2017 Can't beat LOS for activities to keep those boys busy.
smilepak Posted May 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2017 At that age, i would say Liberty of the Sea, if younger, I would say Carnival
