What to do after disembarking in Fort Lauderdale?

Recommended Posts

We found a decent price on a car rental for the day. Our flight is not until 9 PM after our cruise. So after we disembark we can use the shuttle from the port to go to the airport to pick up the car. Then we can store all of our luggage in the trunk and be on our way. We found a Groupon under Fort Lauderdale area for the Sawgrass Recreational Airboat/ Everglades tour. Instead of $22 a person it is $28 for 2 people, plus they were having a 15% off sale for things to do category. The airboat ride is only 30 minutes but the exhibits and such will take up another 2 hours so they say. The ride there from the airport is close to 30 minutes. By that time, we will want to do something for an early dinner where we love Little Saigon in North Miami and so we will head to there for our favorite restaurant when we are in Fort Lauderdale area. If not this tour, there are others listed on groupon. Keep checking car rentals since they tend to change often.

Our flight back home only leaves at 3:15 pm after our cruise. We were thinking of going to the beach, but we have nowhere to shower after. Does anyone have any other ideas or recommendations?

Really that isn't a whole lot of time...yes you could rent a car...however have you considered an everglades airboat ship excursion..they would then take you to the airport.

If you don't mind me asking, who are you renting the car though, and how much are you paying? We are in a similar situation, and debating renting a car or not.... Thanks!

We are using E-Z Car rental out of the airport. You can click on coupons if you want to save 5%. There are a list of coupons so click it and see if any apply. Then you like them on facebook and like them. You put in your reservation number and they deduct another 3%. We got a mid size car for $33 plus tax, coming to $43.65 for the day. Our flight is not until 8:55 PM.
