Bayou Classic Parade

We should be arriving at the Royal Sonesta around 3pm on Thanksgiving and I'm hoping to get advice on the best, closest place to view the bayou classic parade that starts around 3:30pm. Will we be too late to get a spot to see it along canal street? Thanks.

If you are running late, you can catch it on Decatur Street around Jackson Square.
