Flying into FLL, staying a night, cruising out of POM

We're a group of 7, 6 adults and a 4 year old girl. We're flying into FLL on Sat. for a Sun. cruise out of the port of Miami in December. We get into FLL at 11:00am. So... we're looking for transportation for the 7 of us from FLL to a hotel, then to POM the next morning, then from POM back to FLL after our cruise.

We're looking for recommendations on where to stay, what to do, who to use for transportation, etc. We'll have most of a day to spend when we arrive, so we'd like something kid friendly to do. Any beach hotel recommendations for families? or just hotels with good pools? Stay in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, somewhere else?

Any help would be great!

Hotels in the 17th St area of Ft Lauderdale- like Hilton Marina, Embassy Suites, Hyatt Pier 66 get lots of recommendations. Having stayed at 2 of those, Embassy Suites would be my recommendation.

Shuttle from Ft Lauderdale is the very common recommendation. There are several to choose from SAS, QLS, Jiffy Jeff, GO Shuttle...

As suggested above, I agree with the advice to stay in the FLL area and then make your way to POM the next day. Generally hotels in the FLL area are cheaper than comparable properties in either Miami or Miami beach, and the FLL area in general is more family friendly.
