Explorer Cruise and Island Tour...Anyone Done This?

Looking at an excursion on the Explorer Cruise and Island Tour. Just curious if anyone has done this one thru your cruise. Hard to tell how long you are actually on the boat, in Marigot and on the bus. It says the tour is 4 hours but if it is mainly on a bus and very little time on the water or in Marigot that makes it less attractive for us.

I did this excursion and I recommend it. You take a short bus ride to the Explorer. The boat ride is lots of fun. You get unlimited rum punch and are entertained by "Shine", who is an excellent Caribbean singer and is very entertaining. The boat ride is about an hour. When you get off the boat, you get to shop for about another hour (which was actually enough time) then head back to the boat to meet for the bus ride back to the ship. After the tour was over we still had plenty of time to take the water taxi across to the beach and boardwalk. We were in port until 5pm and actually had plenty of time.

I went on this excursion in November and had a ball. We boarded the bus at

the pier and took off with Onkee and Terry. We took a guided tour of both

sides of the Island, then we got on the "Calypso Boat".

Being on the boat with Shine, the entertainer, was the highlight for me. It

was a non-stop party from the beginning. I danced my shoes off.

On the way back, we asked to be left at the beach, where we hung out for a

few hours, then we took the water taxi back to the ship.

Be sure to try a coconut smoothie at the pier. They're tasty.
