parking for cruise on FOS

We are driving from VA for our cruise in a little over two weeks. We have been told by the hotel we are staying at Saturday night that we can get a voucher for 40% off for parking at the pier. I have also seen that you can pre book on line for parking at the pier. We know we can park at the hotel but would prefer to have our car at the dock. We also understand the parking is covered which will be very nice. Any suggestion or comments would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

FOS in 2 weeks would be Port Canaveral and that's where you can get the 40% coupons . . .

I believe you can either pre-pay (it is not a 'reservation but space has never been an issue IME)

OR

use the coupon.

Unless something has changed recently, you can't apply the coupon if you pre-pay (I believe you get the coupon at hotel check out)

pre-pay is not necessary IMO ... it is merely a way for the port to remove the temptation of the BIG SIGNS as you approach the port to park for much less $$.

Just recently the port commission reported that lost revenue from empty parking and commercial drop offs not paying the 'fee' are their greatest concerns . . .

Thanks Capt BJ I really like the idea of the covered parking while we are gone. We looked at the parking at the hotel and we could but the hotel is right on the street and is not secure. the 40% off coupon will be very helpful. Thanks for your very helpful information.
