onlyif Posted May 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2013 I have a group of 3 flying into FLL the day before our November cruise out of POM. Should we stay in Ft Lauderdale or near the POM? We plan on using SAS to get to the port if we stay in Ft Lauderdale. Not sure how we would get to the port of we stayed in Miami. Any suggestions? JohninDC Posted May 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 30, 2013 It is up to you - some prefer to stay in Miami and just cab to POM; some prefer the FLL area and shuttle to POM the next day. FLL area hotels tend to be slightly cheaper than comparable hotels in Miami. If your flight is arriving late I would just stay near FLL; if arriving early then you have the option to stay where you want. Downtown Miami hotels to consider include the Hampton Inn (Mary Brickell), Marriott, Doubletree, Hyatt, Intercontinental, and Holiday Inn. Use this site for info on most FLL Hotels http://www.sunny.org Some of CC members favorites: Sleep Inn Dania Cambria Suites Dania Hyatt Place FLL north and south Hampton Inn (2 airport area locations) Embassy Suites Holiday Inn Express convention center La Quinta Airport Hilton 17th Street Bahia Mar Hyatt Pier 66 In addition to SAS, QLS transportation (www.qualitylimoservice.com ), MJS transportation (www.gomjstrans.com ) and Go Airport Shuttle (http://goairportshuttle.com/) are FLL based shuttle services with reasonable prices. 3 in a cab for about $80-85 is another option to Miami. Good luck! :)
Rare Keith1010 Posted May 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 30, 2013 If you are getting in late then I would stay at For Lauderdale. Hotel rates will be cheaper at Fort Lauderdale. However, if you are arriving early you may just want to stay in Miami. If you do, then you can just take a taxi from the hotel over to the port.
