Where to go Snorkeling & lunch is the best

Our ship will dock at St Tomas for one day. We are not a good swimmer? But want to do some snorkeling, which beach is the best? hope we don't need to swim too far and can still see some marine live!

Also any recommendation for lunch - seafood or some local specialty restaurant?

We have snorkeled a couple times at Sapphire Beach. There are vendors to rent snorkel gear from. Rocky entrance (may prefer water shoes to fins) to the water and lots to see very near shore.

Banana Cabana is a beach grill at Sapphire and serves a great mahi mahi sandwich for $14. Also a runner on the beach taking orders from the Sapphire Village restaurant. Sapphire is a great snorkeling beach close to shore, Coki is another but gets very crowded.

If having lunch in town after look at Cuzzin's or Gladys'.

We have been to both Sapphire and Coki and loved both. Yes Coki gets a little more crowded but the snorkeling there was so amazing.

You walk right off the beach into the water and there's instant snorkeling. We had more to see and better luck at Coki when we went. The coral there was amazing and I had never seen purple coral before.

Yes Sapphire generally has nice, calm water and a lot to see in shallow areas. There is also a sea grass area where you may find rays and turtles. The area to the left of the "Stay off the coral" sign (for novice snorkelers who actually stand on it) is a sandy swimming area, and the area to the right is rockier. Folks there will direct you to the best spots if you go to Sapphire.
