Drinks package questions

We are sailing on the Constellation January 2015:

We have the free Classic alcoholic package, does include all

drinks up to $8 or $9 and $6 for beers ?

For Premium alcoholic package does it include all

drinks up to $12 or $13 and all beers ?

If we wanted to upgrade to premium

can we wait a day or two and pay for only the

balance of the cruise ?

Is the cost of the upgrade the same before

the cruise or the ship ?

Thanks

Hi Salvat55,

This should answer most of your questions. The following is from Celebrity's website :

Classic Beverage Package for Two option applies to two guests per stateroom and includes beer up to $6 per serving; spirits, cocktails, and frozen drinks up to $8 per serving, and wine by the glass up to $9 per serving, all soda selections, fresh squeezed and bottled juices, premium coffees, teas and non-premium bottled water and server gratuities (amount based on gratuity guidelines). Premium Beverage Package upgrade available for an additional charge of $11.50 per person, per day which includes gratuities by contacting Celebrity Cruises

As for upgrading to Premium : Last I heard, you can still upgrade onboard, and can do so after the cruise begins. However, once you make the purchase, it must be for the remainder of the sailing.

Hope this is helpful !

I have a question about the Soda package to cruisers who finished a Celebrity cruise recently:

Is canned water still included in the Soda package? I´ve read here on cc several times that Canada Dry Club Soda is included but as of today the Celebrity Website states Coca Cola sodas are included such as Coke or Sprite. Can I still get water on the Soda package? I don´t care which name or brand it is - just water, carbonated if possible.

So in order to make sense on the package:

Is it common for a beer to be over $6, cocktail over $8 and wine over $9?

Would I be paying $138 per week to save on one drink per day?

I think it really depends what you like to drink. The wine selection under $9 is a little limited and the majority of the martinis at the martini bar are above $8. For me, who loves her wine and her martinis, it would be worth upgrading. Additionally (and strangely), the selection of waters is also better with the premium package, if that is worth something to you. Although I don't know for certain, I would expect that the craft beers available would also be above $6.
