Bermuda in September

Has anyone sailed to Bermuda in September? My husband took me to Bermuda as a surprise for my 50th birthday a few years ago ;). We had terrible weather. It was in June and it wasn't really warm on the way down and back and we had force 7 winds and rain for the two days we were there. It stopped raining for about 3 hours one day so we took the ferry over to Hamilton. Losers again, it was Victoria day so most of the stores were closed. We watched a bit of the parade and walked around a bit before we hopped on the boat back to the port before the torrential rain came again.

So, needless to say, we have to do Bermuda again. We already have travel plans for early 2016 but would really like to take Anthem to Bermuda in September.

Is this a good time to go?

DD and I went at the end of October three years ago and it was wonderful. The humidity was gone, the temps were in the mid 80's and the ocean was still warm and we swam every day. To me, the fall is the one of the best times to go to Bermuda. We did have a rough ride back with 38' waves for about 24 hours but that can happen any time in the Atlantic. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

We have gone twice in September and have another booked this year for the end of September. It is a perfect time to go. Warm weather, warm waters and no humidity. :) So far, seas have been calm for us.

We went to Bermuda in September on the Explorer 4 years ago and it was wonderful. Warm water and temperatures. We booked the Liberty to go back this September and can't wait! We also have been to Bermuda in April and won't do that again. The water & temps were much cooler in April and the beaches littered with Portuguese Man of War jellyfish.

We have traveled in the fall to Bermuda twice and agree it is a perfect time to go! The weather is perfect! Personally, I would never go outside Sept or Oct!

I just had to post and say Be Very Careful if you rent a scooter! Unless you are seasoned motorcyclists, I would not do this. We have seen a number of scooter accidents both times we have visited. The roads are narrow, winding and the drivers are quite impatient! The idea of seeing the island by scooter is very attractive until you travel the island by car and actually see the roads and the drivers!

Have fun, and be safe!

Lauri
