One beach day - Mykonos, Volos, Katakolon, or Corfu?

We have several DIY days on our upcoming cruise in Greece. We love to explore on our own - history, beauty, good restaurants.....I am hoping to choose one day - maybe half day, where we relax at a beautiful beach and swim some. If you were to choose, which port/ beach would you pick to do this? Thank you

If the meteors (spelling?) monastery from Velos or Olympia from Katakolon don,t appeal then consider those ports. Neither has anything else of significance to offer. Beach at K is pretty poor though I gather there's a decent one in taxi range and theres one in taxi range at V.

It,d be a waste of Mykonos to spend that day on the beach, but you can explore the town independently on foot for half a day and taxi to a super beach for the rest. Or if the town captivates you and you want more time there, it has a beach at the end of the harbour though that one,s pretty limited and no facilities.

Stax of options on Corfu.

Agios Andreas beach, 3km from Katakalon is nice. See http://www.katakolon.org/beaches.html for more and this thread http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2075165&highlight=andreas+beach .

Paleokatsritsta is on the island of Corfu. LOVE this beach (there are crowded beaches, but also secluded ones). Here's more info: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=43678549#post43678549

We went to both this summer. Enjoy Greece!!

Definitely drive to the Meteora monasteries since that is one of the most incredible places that I have ever been in my life. My very long cruise had two tours from different ports and some people on the late September tour complained that it was too crowded but I went on the tour in October about 10 days later and the monasteries weren't crowded.
