can i grab a cab from the pier and go to one of the lobster places, specifically Ryer's? anyone ever done this, approximate time and cost? thanks all; i'm not interested in doing anything else on this trip....have done it previously....

Metered cab fare from the port is going to be c. $75 (taxifarefinder has Halifax cab rates available) one way. I wager you could hire a car for a significant discount over the return cab fare...

I agree. Either rent a car or have your lobster on the Halifax waterfront.

May I suggest Salty's. A very pleasant walk from the ship terminal along the boardwalk. We have enjoyed many a wonderful lobster on their back deck. Great setting right on the water.
