SofaBed Concerns/Questions

Really not loving that the sofa opens up to a double bed for sleeping. When open, it looks like there's about a foot of room to squeeze by going out to the balcony. Not to mention that you won't be able to open any of the dresser drawers when the sofa bed is open. When sharing the room with a late-sleeping teen, this seems like it'll be really annoying.

Has anyone asked the room steward to just leave the sofabed closed and make up the couch? Put a sheet and blanket and pillow on it, remove the bolsters and just leave as soda?
