Mrs. Ram Posted November 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2014 Hi everyone! I'm wondering if Carnival ever selects a wedding group to receive a cabin upgrade? I'm sure I'm just daydreaming but I'm hoping Carnival will call and offer an upgrade for a little extra $$!

Carnival_Brides Posted November 14, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I've never heard of them upgrading wedding couples or Honeymoon couples (there are loads of the latter every.single.cruise.) unless they a) booked a GTY or b) were at Platinum status or higher. Complimentary upgrades are rare these days--we've only received one and only for our "loyalty".
DustinandStacy2015 Posted November 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I wonder if anyone has received a call saying that they can pay a little extra for an upgrade. I would be willing to even do that.
cb at sea Posted November 14, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2014 That wouldn't be an "upgrade", it would be an "upsell"! Yes...that does happen, and you can call and ask about it! You don't have to wait for them!

beachnsnowbunny Posted November 15, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 15, 2014 We had asked also, no luck. :( We did go from a balcony room to a suite just for convenience so myself and the girls to have room to get ready.
WendyinOC Posted November 17, 2014 #8 Share Posted November 17, 2014 I have never seen it. You do have a better chance at the Marriage Show if you were married on the cruise.
ImaginationCruiseBride Posted November 24, 2014 #9 Share Posted November 24, 2014 When I originally booked our cruise, I went through our PVP with Carnival and when I told her it was our wedding cruise, she upgraded us at the time of booking. It was just a couple category upgrade so we got a really nice position on the ship and then she also upgraded our guests that we paid for (our daughters and their husbands were our wedding party) at that time. Even category upgrades for the whole wedding and guests is pretty nice. I was thinking about booking a regular room and once all of my wedding costs are taken care of calling and paying for an upgrade. ...yes I realize they aren't giving me anything special this way, but it is our wedding/honeymoon and it would be nice to have a suite. Plus you wouldn't have to pay for it until later. Just an idea :D
Miss Kellybean Posted February 5, 2015 #11 Share Posted February 5, 2015 I have a suite booked but have to wait for the upsell fairy to offer me the Owner's Suite. And I am REALLY hoping for the Owner's Suite!!
dbrown13 Posted February 5, 2015 #12 Share Posted February 5, 2015 Miss Kellybean what ship are you sailing on? We booked the Grand Oceanview Suite on the Freedom. It's part of the new configuration of the ship so there aren't any photos or reviews out there but it's a larger space and I figured it would be nice to get ready in. I doubt I'll be waiting for another upgrade offer (unless I happen to win the lotto or something!)
