amajaa Posted July 24, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2015 i don't suppose anyone knows how much it is to clean a dinner suit or just the jacket onboard do they? We don't know whether to get cleaned onboard before the first formal or get cleaned before we board. Thanks.
BrianI Posted July 24, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2015 Found this information on the P&O website..... Dry cleaning is also available, there is a charge per item, price lists will be available in your cabin. Please note that with the exception of Oriana where conventional dry cleaning takes place, the 'dry cleaning' service on board is an eco-friendly gentle wet cleaning service called Aquatex or Wascomat and this is suitable for some items which require dry cleaning, however the laundry master on board will assess each garment on an individual basis to see if it is appropriate to use the Aquatex / Wascomat system. Brian Yes this happened to us on Oceana where they couldn't dry clean my husbands trousers which are a cotton based material (like suit trousers) so there is a risk that the suit might be deemed unsuitable for the cleaning method available. I would have them cleaned before you set sail to be on the safe side. Can't remember the prices, but they were not really any more expensive than the high street dry cleaners. rickpo Posted July 24, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2015 Not sure about P&O but on other ship I've been on there is an additional charge if you want the item back within 24 Hrs, so if the first formal night is on the 2nd day then this may apply. Rick.

Rick. I have encountered this on other lines and generally it doubles the price but still pretty inexpensive for an item you need back quick. You would not do your entire load on the express service. A lot of time can be saved if you make sure cabin steward is due at your cabin as you can lose time if he has finished his round. Phoning reception for advice is an option or if he/she uses a pager system. Regards John
