Simpson Bay Beach

Has anyone been to Simpson Bay beach? I read that it's one of the longest and nicest beaches on St Maarten with plenty of sand. It doesn't look like it's too far from Phillipsburg. Is there a bus or is taxi only option?

You could walk 15 minutes, bus and walk another 20 minutes but it wouldnt add at all to the experience in my opinion. I like the beach and Karakter beach bar.

Yes, there is a bus, but best to take a taxi to the beach to rendezvous with the bus there;)

Follow the taxi signs and ask to be taken to Karakter beach bar on Simpson Bay beach.

Our family just came back from a great cruise and while in St. Maarten we went to Simpson Bay Beach right by the Karakter beach bar. It was amazing. The chairs were included if you bought drinks/food. It was super quiet there too. No problem getting taxi back to port either. Probably 15-20 minute drive. We'd definitely go back there. We founds lots of beach glass on the sand and my boys were in the water snorkeling the entire time...not much to see in terms of reefs, but they loved it!
