Buying wine

Which sort of wine might you be interested in?

Certainly St. Maarten doesn't produce any wine of its own.

If you're thinking of wines from France, related to the northern half of the island being French, then they are available all across the island, but if you are interested in 'upper' levels of wine, then we can narrow your choices down to just several favored shopping points.

Yes, the ship will hold it until you get off unless they just happen to not see it as you re-board from the port.

I would actually recommend a wine shop on the Dutch side, Select Wine Cellar if you are looking for some very fine wines.

If you want to step down a notch, but still stay with the French offerings, I would recommend the Grand Marche, just outside of Philipsburg.

Either would probably require a taxi, but you COULD get to the Grand Marche by bus for $1.

I doubt that either of these would deliver to the ship.

Some of the jewelry/liquor shops along Frontstreet have French wine for sale, but I would question the turnover of anything available there.
