USD in Roatan

First time going to Roatan....can I tip and pay excursion and any gifts/food with USD at Mahogany Bay or do I need to change money and / or use CC only?

What is the normal tip for excursions?? doing the zip n dip w/Bodden's

Mahogany Bay is totally set up for the American tourist and they will gladly take USD. It will be more expensive than finding a local/outside guide but they will accommodate USD.

US $ accepted all around, except on the local mini buses. But you'll not be taking one of those at Mahogany Bay. Tip is up to you. Most people give between 10% and 20% of the tour. Some give a flat $5-$10 per person.

The mini bus and water taxi both take USD.

For that matter.. no one on the island has ever refused the USD I have given them.
