AdrieneAGD Posted April 26, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2004 If you can wait a little longer, you can see if they drop the prices any - they just dropped the prices of our September sailing on the Mariner... stretch Posted April 26, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2004 For THIS Summer??? From what I've seen, prices started going up last year and haven't taken a drop since. For reference, you might want to look at ***** and their 90 day ticker. It will post any additional price drops that may occur. Stretch Barcrawlers on ice, where will we turn up next? nosnobunny Posted April 26, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 26, 2004 I've been looking at the summer of 05 and unless something changes, I'll be taking my DGDs to an island instead. The prices are out of sight. Beth
aqusis Posted April 26, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 26, 2004 Atruim cabins can only accomodate 2 people. I don't think there are any that accomodate a 3rd or 4th passenger. Mariner of the Seas
dougp26364 Posted April 26, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 26, 2004 Makes me glad for two things. 1. I can plan ahead and 2. we don't have to vaction in the summer. For what it's worth, I don't think the Alaskan cruises are any higher than what we paid for last year. Most of what I've been looking at are pretty close to the prices I've seen in the past. Our November cruise hasn't changed in price since we booked it last July. At least not for our balcony cabin. I think the inside cabin has gone up $10 PP. I hope things work out for you. I've seen a LOT of threads about higher prices and people not being able to cruise. I know passenger loads have been up but if they get the prices to high, passenger loads may fall further than what they want. It will be interesting to see what happens. brn2crz Posted April 26, 2004 #14 Share Posted April 26, 2004 We have been waiting and waiting to book the Rhapsody... Finally figured I would try out the Elation... The day I was going to book...I checked my Site for the Rhapsody once more...about a 200 drop on insides, and 400 on D1 balcony... We are on the Rhapsody Sept 12th... Price went back up the next day.and back down 2 says later... I think they release a few at a time to these online agents, and then they dump whats not moving. We got a great Mi-ship,ocean-view,and are on a waiting list for a D1. Lizcourt Posted April 26, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 26, 2004 It's true, at least for the 9 day Voyager out of NY, that prices seem to be going up, not down, as the date approaches. We're on the 7/2 Voyager sailing and, as I usually do, when I recently made the final payment, I checked around the discount internet sites to see if I could find a lower price to negotiate with my TA. What a shock! The prices on even the discount sites were substantially more than we're paying (we booked more than a year out from the cruise date.). It's strictly supply and demand, folks -- I guess the post 9/11 slump and the days of overcapacity have come and gone. I must go down to the sea again. . . . Countdown to Voyager! hr80126 Posted April 28, 2004 #18 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Just had a large price drop on a Princess cruise to the Med in September that we booked last fall. Cruise Quick was right on top of it. Price was almost $1,000 less than showing on Travelocity for a balcony the same day. 9/13 Star Princess
