Hobart car hire

We are a party of 9 wanting to hire a car for a few hours. Could someone tell me if there are any car hire companies close to wharf in the city. Arrive on a Saturday and will return car same day.

Everything is close to the wharf in Hobart.

The rental companies would be a 10 /15 minute walk away. Some deliver to the wharf , but the demand is so high on days a ship is in , that pick up from their depots is quicker.If you want a special vehicle , or a van for 9 people , make sure you book early to get what you want.

We've cruised into Hobart twice. Both times we've hired from Avis - they're a short 5ish minute walk from the ship. Definitely do book. We've had a car booked and witnessed people in front of us in the queue being turned away because they had not booked and Avis no cars left over. If you book they guarantee you a car. We saw car transporter trucks delivering cars there in the morning to cope with the demand for hire cars, but they only ordered in what was pre-booked.

Avis and Thrifty are very close, more like a couple of minutes' walk than ten. The other main car hire places are a little further although still quite easy.
