cassamanda Posted November 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2014 Sorry meant to post this earlier. Cruisers need to constantly check the rail websites for train outages in Sydney due to scheduled maintenance and hot weather delays. All city to airport trains are replaced by buses this weekend. With the scorching hot weather predicted for today, this will not be a comfortable way to travel from airport to ship etc. so take a cab or book a chauffer/hire car. There is a handy App called TripView or the web site is http://www.sydneytrains.info Buses from the domestic airport pick up at the Public Pickup Point whilst at the International they directly outside arrivals near the McDonalds exit near exit A. goodycruising Posted November 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Thanks for the info Hugh. Handy to know where to check for future trips. It is certainly a hot system going through at the moment.
Rare MicCanberra Posted November 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Thanks Hugh, it can really mess up people's travel plans if they are unprepared.
cassamanda Posted November 23, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Another oddity for Sydney is that the International Airport departures access road gets very busy on Sunday morning. This morning it was still backed up to the M5 exit at Marsh st at 9.30am I know of many people who missed flights because of this. Access from the city is slightly better but i still allow extra time to get to international on Sunday mornings. Friday evening seems to be busiest at domestic terminals.
