dunellen Posted February 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2017 where would you recommend? could you do all or some (which ones) by taxi or bus in a day while visiting via a cruise? tks!
Rare crewsweeper Posted February 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2017 You could do two at any one time. 3 gets a bit tougher. All 4 would be out unless you're on an over night. Marigot and then Maho via taxi or bus. Choose your time schedules to get to Maho when the bigger planes land in early afternoon. Adding Grand Case might be doable via taxi, not by bus, if you want to have lunch there instead of in Marigot. Or skip Maho and just do Marigot and Grand Case. Getting to Orient is a separate journey IMO. But people have done Orient and Maho via taxi. I just don't think you'd have enough time to enjoy either if trying to work them in. OCruisers Posted February 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2017 The only reason (and it's important to some) to go to Maho is to see very low flying planes. The beach there is horrid. You would definitely need to spend your beach time elsewhere. ;)
lovevacadays Posted March 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2017 where would you recommend? could you do all or some (which ones) by taxi or bus in a day while visiting via a cruise? tks! It depends on how long you are in port. We were there from 7am-6pm and went to all four. Unless you are an airplane lover Maho is just average. We did enjoy watching the planes fly over our heads but we had plenty of time so it was fun. We loved the French side of the island. Marigot and Grand Case. If you go to Marigot be sure and go to Sarafina's Bakery. Oh so yummy. Orient Beach is beautiful. Just depends on if you are more beach people or if you want to explore the city areas more.
