Brimstone Hill Fortress

We are interested in visiting the fortress. Few questions for those who have been there:

1. How much time is recommended?

2. Is it better to DIY or through a tour company?

3. If DIY - what is the best way to get to/form there from cruise ship?

We spent a couple hours which was just right. Could do it in less....but we really explored. We did diy. ..found a taxi in the main square just outside the port.

Depending on your interest in history, you can spend a lot of time touring. Some of the tours stop there. The admission is $10 US and may or may not be included in a tour price. It is pretty self explanatory for a visit. The best way to get there is by a tour/taxi as there is no public transportation to the fort. If you go by taxi you may have to either arrange a pick up time or pay a wait time while you tour the fortress.

Do you remember how much was the taxi ride? How did you get back to the ship?

Sorry to ask so many questions. We are a group of 8 people. Will 2 taxis fit us all? Was the $55USD per taxi? Did you have the taxi wait for you?

The 2 of us just hailed a car. There are taxi vans available so there probably will be savings witha larger group.

We did a private tour with Royston. He took us all over the island including Brimstone. It was one of the best tours i have ever taken! Highly recommend him!!

Do you have Royston's email address? Did he allow you as long as you want at Brimstone?

Just google Royston tours st kitts. Im sure he'll do whatever you want him to do. Hes fantastic... There are some days he doesnt work though. His religious holidays. He'll tell you if he cant work the day you need him

Gotta agree how awesome Royston is. We also did his tour a couple of years ago and had a great time. There was only 6 of us with him and we saw all the great sites on he island and had a fantastic day.

Another vote for Royston. He is relaxed and most accommodating. He will also customize a tour to your needs. We thought that the tour we had with him was the best of any we have had in the Caribbean.
