Mosquito question - February

Hello,

I'm going to the western Caribbean for the first time in early February, and am wondering about mosquito's (I'm past child bearing age, so Zika is not a major concern). Should I anticipate mosquito's on the beach? How about near the jungle ruins?

I'm going to post the same question on the Belize site, however any info would be greatly appreciated!

We've been going to various ports in the Caribbean for nearly 20 years, during winter months, and have never been bothered by mosquitoes. Having said that we could have just been lucky or just in the right places at the right times. To ease your mind though it might be best to take DEET or another repellent to be on the safe side. Better to err on the side of caution.
