dorothy09 Posted January 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2017 Read in a new review that the Bequia boardwalk to St Margarets Beach has been badly damaged by a storm. It added that a sign said it is closed but locals say it is not. Anyone got any further information? Looked forward to using it.
Pensioncruiser Posted January 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2017 We found it difficult to get past last year and had to walk through private grounds which understandably they did not appreciate. dorothy09 Posted January 14, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted January 14, 2017 That's a shame, we quite fancied doing that. Mind you its our first morning on the boat following the flight so we might just take it easy. We do fancy going ashore on the tender at Bequia for the experience as we missed both opportunities when on the Celebration due to illness. We are staying at Club Barbados the second week so will have plenty of beach time.
Pensioncruiser Posted January 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2017 It's still a nice area to walk round just off the tender with a local market 😁 Sent from my b1-720 using Forums mobile app
gillhalfpint Posted January 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 15, 2017 We enjoyed the boardwalk last January and were looking forward to it this year too . Will still take the tender over there though as there are water taxis running to the beach, and it is a lovely island. Will keep fingers crossed for getting along some of the boardwalk though, even if we just make it to the bar with a beach before the main beach. Pensioncruiser Posted January 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Just make sure the water taxi is one of the BIG ones it's just a bit difficult on the small one😉 Sent from my b1-720 using Forums mobile app

Rare dronnygirl Posted January 16, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 16, 2017 Hi, any idea of the cost of the water taxi and how long it takes? I guess they return throughout the day?
Pensioncruiser Posted January 16, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 16, 2017 Sorry don't recall costs but it takes about 20 mins and operates all day or you could get the land taxi they are all just waiting when you get off the tender. There are also lots of bars:p if you do try the walk with Wi-Fi.

Didn't try the water taxi last year but probably will this time. Gill
