Snorkling in Jamaica?

My husband and I will be on RCI Navigator of the Seas in September which will be in Falmouth for a day. He has a co-worker that told him that the best snorkeling he ever did was in Jamaica. Does anyone know where the best spot would be or which tour would be the best? We don't want to have to drive a great distance to go to the spot and we don't want to have to book with the cruiseline so we are looking to book an independent tour. Would love some suggestions. He wants to go on a catamaran too. Thanks!

If the co-worker friend of your husband told him the best snorkeling he'd ever done was in Jamaica, this friend must have very limited snorkel experience.

Honestly, Jamaica is NOT know for great snorkeling.

I agree Lulu. I kind of questioned that statement too.

We are stopping at Cozumel (where I have snorkeled twice before) and we are stopping at Grand Cayman. I think grand Cayman is probably the best choice for snorkeling since I've already experienced Cozumel. Most of the reefs there are unimpressive and dull, if not dead. We have never been to Jamaica or Grand Cayman so we are trying to select really good experiences at both of these locations for our first time visits.

yeah.... snorkeling Jamaica... that guy has very bad snorkeling experiences. In Caribbean - Roatan, Belize, Cozumel, Bonaire, Curacao, Caymans, Turks & Caicos.... those have snorkeling worth paying for.

I was going to suggest you check the Caymans board and noticed you already had.

Happily, many suggested independent agents for a stingray/snorkel tour.

You would especially enjoy one that takes you by sailing catamaran. :)
