REVIEW of CHUKA ZIP LINE OASIS SAILING AUG. 1, 2015

Just wanted to write about our excusion booked thru RCI.

When we arrived at port we leisurely walked off the ship, walked to the tents to check in for our excursion.

Upon arrival, the attendants were their usual disorganized frenzy.

We have done 3 ziplines before from Falmouth so new the routine.

Nothing moves fast or goes on time in Jamaica

Under the hot tent we filled out our waivers and waited

There was a large group and we were broken down to two separate groups of around 20 each .

We were on the first bus, that left last.

We rode in a comfortable airconditioned old mini bus and the driver gave us a nice history and detailed talk about Jamaican life.

Upon arrival to the check-in area on the mountain, the first group was fitted with their gear and took off in an all terrain vehicle.

We the second group felt like the evil step child, they did not know what to do with us to try to kill time. We got a biology lesson on plants, used the restrooms (which were clean--but being so high up on the mountain there was no water pressure to flush the toilet) so when you were done in the stall you put the lid down on the toilet seat and the attendant put a bucket of water in the back of the tank to flush), The restrooms were clean, minus this unusual way of flushing the toilet. Bought water, used the restrooms, took a walk, more talk about plants and then were fitted with our gear.

About one hour passed, finally we boarded the all terrain vehicle and went the rest of the way up the hill.

In all our visits to Jamaica --- this was the first time I observed the extra security personal around HMMMMMM wondered if something happenend.

So we get to the first line and it was short and a good introduction.

The guides were great.

We did 10 runs, some long, some short some SURPRISES:eek: yup, they were good.

When it was done about 90 min. later we waited to walk a small distance to catch the all terrain vehicle back to the check in area.

We did this same run last year and when we were their last year we carved our daughters name and date on a tree, we found it and added 2015:D she took pictures.

Now back at the waiting area, they tried to sell you pictures they took on the excusion, too pricey. We smuggled our own camera and got our own.

We did tip the guides, they deserve it.

Then we waited for the driver to start the mini bus to go back down.

He gave us a tour of the new down town area and was very informative.

Back at Falmouth went to Margarittavile and bought T-shirts, and stopped at the vendors an got some gifts.

Back on board by 3:30.

Loved the excursion it is great, and would definetely would do again, but the waiting game is a killer and it is what it is.

Sea Ya
