Travel to Sydney

We know that we are allowed to bring into Australia 2.25 of alcohol each,would it be better to buy it and bring it on or shop onboard at the duty free?? Please advise Sailing Jan 20th 2014 on Pacific Princess.:confused:

We brought our alcohol aboard in our luggage in Sydney and it was confiscated by RCCI staff. Didn't get it back until we disembarked.

Very strict.

Trying to understad correctly...Are you asking if it is worth buying the wine at home (Canada) and taking it with you to Australia and then boarding the ship?

or...are you looking to buy it onboard the aircraft on the way to Australia?

or is it you are wondering if it is worth buying it on the ship, then taking it off the ship in Sydney to come home?

or...are you looking to buy it onboard, and then drink it on board?

I wouldn't shop onboard, as I found Ocean Princess alcohol prices expensive.

Princess Alchohol policy is 1 bottle of wine pp free to take on board at embarkation only, others charged corkage pp 15$ pp I think at portside as you check in. No spirits permitted and no other wine from other ports of call on your cruise...draconian
