FLL/MIA transportaion

I am really confused about transportation from the Fort Lauderdale area to the Miami area. Some companies don't service the port, some don't go to MIA airport hotels.....So here is what I want to do if anyone has suggestions.

FLL Airport to Courtyard hotel MIA airport

POM to FLL

*Taxi for about $75+ on the meter

*Tri-Rail train from FLL to MIA and then the hotel shuttle to the Courtyard

*Shared shuttle service from Go Airport, Super Shuttle or American Shuttle

*Private car/limo service from John's car service, Larry's Limos and Holland limo

POM to FLL

*Shared shuttle service for about $15 per person from SAS. QLS. Go Airport, and many others

*Taxi for about $75+ on the meter

*Private car/limo service from John's car service & Larry's Limos

*$25 cab to MIA and then the Tri-Rail train to FLL (not an option I would suggest, but it will get you there)

An easier option is to cancel your hotel reservations, stay somewhere near FLL, and take a shared shuttle to/from POM. The FLL area hotels they pick up at are listed on the shuttle company web sites. ;)

We are flying into FLL in september, rented a one way from dollar a full size for 78.00 including all taxes drop off with free shuttle to port. we are staying in Hollywood, right off 95 in a best western hollywood/adventure, price line 80$ a night. return from Miami port, we reserved from budget 80.10 with all taxes and charges. There are two couples traveling together, about 80$ per couple round trip. :)

I know but there are a bunch of us meeting at the hotel in Miami. We all cruised together on the Summit in 2012 and this is our reunion cruise!!!!:p

Well then you are stuck! ;) You could rent a car one-way FLL to MIA - Alamo, National, & Thrifty will shuttle you to POM from their MIA airport location. Good luck! :)

We arrive early 12/26/15 POM and are flight isn't until 5:30 p.m. Would like a private tour around Miami & drop off t the airport. Any suggestions? Or nearby port hotels that have day rooms where we can drop off luggage?

12/26 could be tough - lots of others travelling to FLA.

http://www.between9and5.com is one source for finding hotels that offer day rates. Sofitel near the MIA airport often comes up. There is also a hotel inside the Miami Airport (cleverly called the Miami Airport Hotel :rolleyes:) with day rates but no pool. :(

Some of the locals may be able to point you to Miami Beach hotels with big pool and spa facilities - they should be happy to watch your bags for the day until you cab to the airport.
