Dover castle transportation

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but is there public transportation from cruise port to the castle? What about to the cliffs?

We took a taxi

The castle did not open until 10 am so the driver took us for a tour around the area & a stop at a parkette near the cliffs

There is a shuttle service but it was not running the day we were there

Basically, yes. Have flown in and out of Heathrow. It doesn't look like it is very far to castle. Do you know if it is walk friendly? Thanks

Dover Castle is well worth visiting. It is located on the top of a hill, so it is easiest to take either a taxi or paid shuttle from the cruise port to the castle entrance. After the visit just walk back down to the Dover city center.

The castle does take some credit cards. We used Visa to pay for the entrance fee.

You can ask at the entry kiosk to call you a taxi when you are ready to leave unless the shuttle bus is running then wait for it

We used GBP

It is not far from the port but the hike up the hill is a killer :D

We were there 5 hrs & did not see it all
