How often is Miami port parking sold out?

We are planning on parking at port for a week, hoping to get there around 11:30 a.m. or so, and I was just wondering if the parking garages right at the port are frequently sold out, or if there is plenty of room (for people willing to pay the $20/day:p ) We know there are options, but with 2 kids, we are paying for convenience. Also - does anyone know which terminal Carnival uses, as it looks like some of the parking garages only take cash...thanks for any help.

We went on a cruise out of Miami the week before Christmas and had no problems parking at the port. They seemed to have plenty of room for all the cruisers. We cruised NCL, and the garage we parked at only took cash, so be sure to have plenty on hand because it is soooo pricey! :eek:

We have sailed out of the Port of Miami many times and never was the parking sold out. Sometimes you do have to park on one of the higher levels but there is an elevator.

I appreciate the info - I heard about the cash issue - can't believe they are set up for cash only, but we will come prepared!
