donr Posted May 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2014 Hello all, We are booked on a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale in December, and are flying into Miami (LOT cheaper from where were coming from); renting a car since we will be arriving the day before cruise departure. Do any of the rental companies have facilities at or very near the cruise terminal? I don't particularly want to go to the airport and then wait for a shuttle if I don't have to. There already is a thread on this subject but it is very old, and I'm looking for updated information.

The port is only about 8 miles from the airport . Taxi should be about $15 plus tip for two.
Isa65 Posted May 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2014 At the entrance of Port Everglades there is a Dollar/ Thrifty office. Free shuttle to/from port. Avis and Budget also have an office very nearby with a free shuttle to Port Everglades.
