Sushi on Triumph

Hi cruisers! Can someone tell me about the sushi on the Triumph...I have heard that it is only offered in the evening and the lines are often long. The person I talked to said that the sushi was good, but they could have had more of a selection.

Any insight?

Its right next to the casino bar. And i think it is at 5pm

It was pretty good they have different selection each night.

If you get there before it opens the line is short.;) Or wait till first seating for MDR as alot will drop by there for a pre dinner snack.

correction: currently, where the sushi used to be, next to the world bar adjacent to world's way and the casino, they have no replaced it with the 'taste bar' - which offers a different appetizer sized dish each night, with complementary (not free, rather matched) 5.00 drink special each night.

i heard sushi was up on the lido deck but never went after it as i found the taste bar selections and the drink specials to be superior.

but re: sushi they typically have like 3 selections each night... not great sushi but a good appetizer. it should be available 5.30-8.30 but again i never went so can't verify.

check out the taste bar though, it was yummy.

also, just pulled out capers from last week...

as i had recalled, they never did list sushi in the alternate dining section of the 'all kinds of deliciousness' back part of the tear off thing... that's part of why i never went seeking it and just replaced with taste bar... plus taste bar drink specials = better than saki lol.

so, just per my observation, inconclusive. but i can say for a fact it was not next to the casino bar, that has been replaced by taste bar selections daily in the same time frame.

Never was on the Dream , but was on the Glory last week , and they had the sushi bar and sushi in the buffet several nights. The sushi was very good , but in the sushi bar , they didn't let you pick what you wanted you just waited on line and they gave everyone a few pieces each.

as i understand it, it was implemented july 2012... and it is listed here:

but as you noted, yes, i experienced it last week (9/1 cruise). i actually much preferred it honestly. because to be true, the sushi wasn't that great, and the 5.00 drink specials (full size) are pretty great. highly recommended.

here's a link to some of the specials available, all very yummy (and better than their lackluster sushi):

The Sushi isnt what Im used too being from SF but it was tasty after a day in the sun drinking a few beers waiting for the GF to get ready for dinner;)

I look forward to trying Taste and I like $5 pre dinner cocktails.

The menu choices sound great and look good

to me the sushi isn't even as good as what i get in my grocery store... the 'study in sushi' in mdr on longer cruises (not offered on 5 days, thereby triumph) is good... but even california rolls in mdr are bleh for my tastes...

the $5 drink specials seal the deal tho imo... the blue's blue margarita (frozen) is a hell of a good drink and a deal, and the 'red jumper' drink was pretty good too... nice little happy hour each night, one of the best deals you'll get on good drinks.

additionally, service seemed to be much faster than with the old sushi bar, and very easy to get multiples. and again, i didn't even miss the sushi and saw no reason to go seek it out, because taste was a superior option imo... highly recommend checking it out :)
