MTinGA Posted October 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2015 Has anyone had any experience of dining on HAL as a single? How hard is it to request a single table for myself. Thanks for any help as I have never said HAL before.
bottomfeeder Posted October 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2015 I have sailed HAL once, on the Eurodam, and it was just fine. They will ask you if you want to share when you are going in to dinner, and if not that is not a problem at all.

travelnap Posted October 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2015 Has anyone had any experience of dining on HAL as a single? How hard is it to request a single table for myself. Thanks for any help as I have never said HAL before. I have sailed solo on HAL a few times and usually take the open dining. They give you the option of dining by yourself or joining a table, so whichever way you prefer shold work fine.
elycelynne Posted October 13, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 13, 2015 The two-tops aren't all that plentiful (which is where you would be seated if you wanted to dine alone). You might have a bit of a wait depending on how crowded the dining room is at any given time.
Rare sambamama Posted October 18, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2015 I have sailed 4 or more times as a solo on HAL. I have always done fixed dining late sitting, large table of 6 or 8 except for the Alaska cruse where I went with two friends and we took open sitting. I don't like eating alone. On the one cruise, there was a man dining alone near my table every night at a table for 4 every night unless he ate at the Pinnacle. I spoke to him, and he said he preferred eating alone, but liked having a table with more openings so he could invite someone to eat with him (but he never did.) I don't think you would have an issue getting a table alone at late sitting if you wanted.
elycelynne Posted October 19, 2015 #7 Share Posted October 19, 2015 I don't have any experience with solo dining at fixed seating, so I have no idea how easy or difficult that would be. I was only going by what I know from open seating.
cambodian coleen Posted November 8, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 8, 2015 I have made several HAL sailings, and never have had a problem getting a table alone when that it what I preferred.
