808lady Posted June 6, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2016 We plan to drive to the port. Does anyone have advice about the easiest and most economical way to park? Sleep and park at an airport hotel and get a cruise ship transfer to the port? Other options? Any advice appreciated.
Ine Posted June 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2016 Parking in Amsterdam is not only a problem but also very expensive. No hotel shuttles to the port anyway. Indeed some hotels near the airport offer free parking, however sometimes it is for a limited number of days only. Check before making reservations. From the airport you can take a train to Amsterdam Centraal, walk from there in 10/15 minutes or take tramnr. 26 to IJburg, get off at Muziektheater, walk for a short while. The website of the cruise terminal however also gives some ideas about parking, check this: http://www.ptamsterdam.nl/en/cruises-portal
