carnival03 Posted July 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2016 I'm having difficulty choosing an itinerary for our cruise next June, 2017, for our son's 21st birthday. We are a family of three and love the typical white sand, blue water beaches. Shopping is a plus and we love just being in a beautiful place! Here are my choices: All leaving from San Juan... Itinerary One: St. Thomas / Curacao / Aruba / St. Kitts Itinerary Two: St. Maarten / St. Kitts / Antigua / St. Lucia / Barbados Itinerary Three: Bonaire / Curacao / Aruba / St. Maarten So what do you like about St. Lucia? What sets it apart from the options above, and which Itinerary would you choose? Thanks for your opinion! :D

Thanks for your opinion! :D The main thing that sets St Lucia apart from all the other islands in your itinerary choices is the lush mountainous rainforest that covers most all of the island.. The ABCs are mainly flat arid islands - which makes for great beaches and water activities but minimal land based options, and they're quite dry ocerall, desert-like. Barbados has some gently rolling hills and is very developed. St Kitts has a good mountain but minimal rainforest. St Lucia combines lush rainforest, mountains and beaches in one...with iconic Pitons, waterfalls, volcano and mud baths, adventure tours, snorkeling and diving, etc.. Itinerary 2 gives a good mix of island types and cultures with developed, minimally developed, great beach options and great adventure options, multiple cultural options, etc.. If beaches and water is your main preference, then I'd go for itinerary #3 - lots of islands with great beach options on all of them..

I love both, but I am leaning more towards itinerary 3! Thanks for your input!

Yup, if beaches and more beaches is tour priority, then 3 is the best fit... Enjoy..
