homeschoolmama Posted February 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Have done snorkeling over the volcanoes in Dominica and it was a blast. Very different from any other snorkeling experience to swim over the rising sulphuric bubbles. Saw alot including sea turtles. OCruisers Posted February 9, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2014 We've only been to Mero Beach once for a brief stop BUT it certainly didn't look like a very good place to snorkel. Hopefully, you'll get other replies from some who have tried it there. LuLu ~~~~
homeschoolmama Posted February 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2014 I am sorry I don't remember the name as we were on a tour, but none of the beaches in Dominica "look good" for snorkeling as there is black sand and volcanic stone on all of them. It was a challenge to get in and out over the stones, rocks and surf . . But well worth it. Sorry I couldn't be more specific. Jenlwarren Posted April 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 2, 2014 Go to Scott's head if you can. It was 70' visibility the day we were there. It's got a nice drop off a ways out. We saw lots of stuff and a turtle. Watch out for sea berries though. I got hit by one and it stings similar to a jelly fish. Beware though, the beach is mostly small rocks but it's definitely worth it if you're going to be snorkeling.
