Majesty OTS vs Carnival Ecstasy

Hi all, first post here, though I've been a lurker for quite some time reading everyone's advice.

Thinking of going solo on a cruise next year, looking at a February 16-20 2015 date from Miami. There are two that interest me, RC Majesty of the Seas heading to Bahamas and Key West, or Carnival Ecstasy heading to Key West and Cozumel. Any recommendations in terms of the ship, entertainment, etc?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I did a three night on Carnival Ecstasy 2 years ago and it was horrible. It might have been because it was a weekend cruise and everyone was crazy partying, but the buffet was a mess and the dining room wasn't much better. I would go with Royal Caribbean personally.

I didn't look up your dates, but the situation on the Majesty is as follows: Cruises on the weekends are mostly parties. Cruises during the week include less party people and have a slightly more relaxes atmosphere.

The ship is older, but well loved by its staff who have to work really hard with all the turn overs. The deck plan is a bit weird (1/2 decks in the middle) but I had a nice time this past April and it certainly beat 3 days in a hotel in Miami!

Awesome thanks for the info everyone. I've done the Ecstasy twice and had a blast in terms of entertainment and such. I'm going to try the Majesty, especially because I've heard great things about Coco Cay and I love Key West.

It's a Monday - Friday cruise so hopefully won't be too crazy.
