Doubletree Sawgrass vs. GalleryOne Ft. Lauderdale

Does anyone have any comments on a comparison of these two hotels, for pre-cruise in April? Both have availability for our dates and prices are not an issue.

Do you prefer to be in downtown Fort Lauderdale close to the beach (Gallery One) or in a suburb at least 20 minutes away (Sawgrass)? Unless you have your heart on going to Sawgrass Mall, stay in the city. If it is shopping you are looking for the Galleria mall is right next to Gallery One. Additionally a water taxi stop is right there (http://www.watertaxi.com). For more ideas on what to do in Fort Lauderdale check out http://www.sunny.org. and http://www.suntrolley.com for cheap transportation.

My choice is the Gallery One. I cannot stand the suburbs.
