Baltimore Boarding handicap

We have been out of Baltimore a couple of times on the Grandeur of the Seas. My husband has COPD and the last time we boarded he had a very difficult time going up the ramp. I noticed that some folks were boarding on a lower deck. What would we need to do in order to be extended that option?

The last time we were on Grandeur I was in a boot. I simply asked the agent at the bottom of the ramp and they directed be to the deck 1 entry. You may have to be a bit persistent.

Do you ask about this when you are still in the cruise terminal?

That would be the crew gangway, and they can get you there. You could also ask for wheelchair assistance to the passenger gangway, explaining about the COPD.
