Walking distance of port?

Is there anything (non excursion) within walking distance of the port that you can do for free/low cost? Looking for a beach with no gunk (sea grass).

Since your upcoming both are on Carnival and Princess you will be docked at Mahogany Bay in Roatan.

There is a beach and beach chairs there at no charge for your use. It's a nice beach area but not good for snorkeling. :)

The beach has no sea grass either. Silty/sandy bottom. Shallow. No waves unless kicked up by passing boats, which are few and go slow.

Thanks!! Is it sort of like One of the Cays or Margaritaville, then? Beach and chairs are free?

Not a Margaritaville, but there are plenty of free loungers, just not in the row closest to the water. Those are reserved for people paying for an excursion there. No need to buy an excursion. And there are at least 2 bars and restaurants. You have to pay, no use of S&S card from ship. Also kayaks, and other items can be rented.

5 min walk to the beach. easy access. chairs are free. Last time we were there we got chairs in the front row at the water though we spent 90% of our time in the water there anyway. Great little beach for a freebie.
